Paintings on Stamps of Netherlands

The sheetlet consists of ten stamps featuring images of works from the various periods of Van Gogh's life was issued on on 2nd January, 2003 to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Van Gogh. The painter created many preparatory sketches, an example of which is included in the sheet margin of each painting. Two paintings have been taken from each of the five important periods of his life.
