Born in 1946, in Narsinghgarh, M.P., Rajesh Joshi has Master's degrees in Zoology and Sociology. He is a freelance writer. Beginning his literary life in 1972, he published his works in journals like Vatayan, Lahar, Pahal, Dharmayug, Saptahik Hindustan, Sarika etc. He has been Editor of magazines like Naya Vikalp, Naya Path and Vartaman Sahitya. Author of twelve books which include four collections of poetry, Ek Din Bolenge Ped, Do Panktiyon Ke Beech etc., with one long poem Samargatha, and two short-story collections, Somwar Aur Anya Kahaniyan and Kapil Ka Ped, four plays and one collection of children's rhymes, Gend Nirali Mithoo Ki. His poems have been translated into English,

German, Russian, Urdu and into many other Indian languages. Recipient of Muktibodh Puraskar, Makhan Lal Chaturvedi Puraskar, Srikant Verma Smriti Samman, Shikhar Samman and others.

Rajesh Joshi's award-winning collection of poems Do Panktiyon Ke Beech, bears witness to the development attained by Hindi poetry in recent times. His poems are perfect examples of the flowering of his own poetic tradition, innovations, and of experiencing even in the minute the immensity of the universal. Hence the work is considered a befitting addition to Indian poetry in Hindi.
